How it works
From what you bought to a better deal, before your return window closes.
TagsOn works out exactly how long you can still return your item, then uses that time to look for the same item, or comparable pieces in your size, for less.
1. We identify the item
Paste the product link and we read that item's page: its name, color, price, original price and any "final sale" label. Some stores mark one color final sale and not another, so we check the color you bought. Prefer a receipt? Upload a PDF or photo, or forward your order confirmation email, and we read the items, prices and dates from it.
2. We apply the store's rules
Every store we cover has its return policy read on the store's own site: the window, whether it counts from the order, ship or delivery date, fees, sale and final-sale rules, holiday extensions, and how it differs between Canada and the US.
3. We do the date math
Give us your order date and we count the way the store counts. If the store counts from delivery and you only know the order date, we show the safe (earlier) deadline and let you add the delivery date for the exact one.
4. We tell you how sure we are
Every answer has a confidence score that lists what we checked and what we couldn't: for example, when a store blocks us from reading the product page, or when its Canadian terms aren't published.
Then, if you want: where else it's sold, and price drops
We look for the same item at other stores and read each listing's price and stock. Turn on price-drop alerts and we check every day until your return window closes, and email you, with a link to buy it, if it gets cheaper.
Same piece, better deal
Tick this when you start a price watch and we also look for the same style, from the same brand, in other colors. If another color is marked down enough to save you at least 25% or $30 on what you paid, while you can still return yours, we email you. You get the two side by side, what's different and what switching costs. It's off unless you turn it on, sends at most one email a week per item, and only counts real markdowns: a color that just costs less (a different material, say) isn't the same piece.
Similar pieces for less
When you check an item and tell us your size, we search every store on our list for comparable pieces. To be shown, a piece has to pass every check. Your size must be in stock on its own page, always. It must be in your color, unless it's from the brand you bought (another style from your brand can be any color, but never the item you already have). It must come from a comparable brand: we group brands into tiers (value, mid-market, premium, contemporary, luxury) by their usual prices for the same kind of item, so coats are compared with coats. It also has to be the same kind of item and cut, men's or women's like yours, the same main fabric according to its fabric content, and look like yours in photos: we show pieces that look at least 80% like yours when there are 3 or more, otherwise ones that look at least 70% alike (never less). Your size comes from your link when it says, or from the size you picked last time for that kind of item. If we can't confirm something, we don't show it, so sometimes there are only a few pieces, or none.
